The Johnson County Honor Guard exists to promote American idealism as enunciated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States, to remember and honor all veterans, and to serve the local community by participation in patriotic-themed education and entertainment programs.
The Johnson County Honor Guard meets the third Tuesday of every month in the American Legion Post 61 Hall @ 1800 hours.
Honor Guard membership is generally restricted to veterans possessing high moral character and are members-in-good-standing in the American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts in Johnson County, TN. The Honor Guard provides military funeral honors, coordinates the Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, teaches Flag Etiquette, and provides color guard for parades, civic meetings and school & church gatherings.
